Genetically modified (GM) plants were once hyped as saviour of the world by having useful functions like no requirement of pesticide, more nutrtion, etc. But for about 12 years of their existence they have given more pain, economic loss & deaths than any other modern agricultural technology. People in India are for all out rejection of GM Plants. Now the religious sentiments are being attached for educating the people and farmers who are mostly illiterate or not so educated to understand the harmful effects as proved by scientific research.
